A great home treatment for when you are in psoriasis crisis is to adopt these 3 steps that we indicate the following:
- Take a bath of coarse salt;
- Drink an herbal tea with anti-inflammatory and healing properties;
- Apply a saffron ointment directly on the lesions.
Also, frequent diving or skin rinsing with seawater also helps to prevent the onset of psoriasis crises due to the properties of water and the presence of ions. Spending a little bit of liquid petroleum jelly daily on lesions or copaiba oil, putting a small amount of the oil on the affected area of the skin at least 3 times a day also help in the treatment because this way, the skin becomes more hydrated and the crusts less evident .
This home treatment does not exclude the treatment indicated by the dermatologist but may be useful to complement, naturally, its effects under psoriasis:
1. Salt bath for psoriasis
Sea salt has micro-minerals that relieve the symptoms of psoriasis, and is indicated to reduce stress that is also one of the triggering factors of the disease.
Ingredients
- 250 g of sea salt
- 1 full bucket with warm water
Method of preparation
Dissolve the salt in the hot water and after the salt is completely dissolved, add cold water until the temperature becomes warm. Throw this water into the body, especially in the affected regions letting it act for a few minutes. If possible, soak in the tub with coarse salt.
The bath should be done once a day, without using soaps, shampoos or any other product in the water. Just water with salt.
2. Herbal tea for psoriasis
Fumaria is a medicinal plant that has anti-inflammatory and soothing properties, has an action on the regeneration of the skin and has been widely used in skin problems such as scabies, hives and psoriasis.
Ingredients
- 1/2 teaspoon dried and chopped smoke
- 1/2 tablespoon of marigold flowers
- 1 cup water
Method of preparation
Mix the medicinal plants in a 1 cup boiling water and let stand for 10 minutes. Strain and take 1 to 3 cups a day to relieve the discomfort of psoriasis.
3. Natural ointment for psoriasis
In addition to following the steps above it is also recommended to use the saffron ointment, which can be made in pharmacies handling at the concentration of 1g saffron, under medical indication.
The curcumin present in safflower reduces amount of CD8 T cells and parakeratosis plaques that are related to psoriasis thus improving the appearance of the skin in the injured area. In addition to using this ointment it is also recommended to consume 12g of saffron in meals daily.
