Terbinafine may be purchased from conventional pharmacies with brand names such as Lamisil, Micoter, Lamisilate or Micosil and may therefore be sold as a gel, spray or tablet after a medical indication.

Indications
Terbinafine is indicated for the treatment of athlete's foot, tinea of the feet, tinea of groin, tinea of the body, candidiasis in the skin and pityriasis versicolor.
How to use
The mode of use of Terbinafine depends on its presentation, and in the case of Terbinafina gel or spray it is recommended:
- Treatment of athlete's foot, body tinea or groin line: 1 application per day, for 1 week;
- Treatment of pityriasis versicolor: apply 1 or 2 times a day, as directed by the doctor, for 2 weeks;
- Candidiasis on the skin: 1 or 2 daily applications, under doctor's indication, for 1 week.
In the case of Terbinafine as tablets, the dosage should be:

Side effects
The main side effects of Terbinafine include nausea, stomach pain, burning in the esophagus, diarrhea, loss of appetite, urticaria and muscle or joint pain.
Contraindications
Terbinafine is contraindicated for children under 12 years of age, as well as patients with hypersensitivity to any component of the formula.
