A good natural remedy that may be indicated to combat dizziness caused by labyrinthitis is Ginkgo Biloba because it improves blood circulation, including inside the ear, and is also useful for fighting tinnitus.
Ginkgo Biloba extract can be purchased at the pharmacy or drugstore, and can be found in capsules, powder or tea form. Its use should be daily, especially when the person undergoes a period of stress, which tends to make dizziness more frequent.
How to take
In capsules, the dose is usually 60 to 80 mg twice daily for a period of up to 1 year, or according to medical advice.
- For the tea: Put 5 sheets of dried ginkgo biloba or 1 tablespoon of the dry powder in 1 cup of boiling water. Stand for 5 to 10 minutes, strain and take 4 times daily.
Ginkgo biloba is well tolerated and rarely has side effects, with the most common being headache, cardiac palpitation and bleeding.
When not to take
Ginkgo Biloba extract and tea should not be used during pregnancy in people who have hemophilia, and its use should be discontinued 2 days before undergoing surgery because it increases the risk of bleeding. For this reason, it is not indicated for people taking blood-thinning drugs, such as aspirin, heparin, or varfina.
