Saline is a great home remedy for those who suffer from burning eyes after spending too much time in front of the computer, tablet or cell phone, especially at night. This burning is usually related to dry eyes because in these situations the person blinks less often.
It is recommended to drip 2 to 4 drops of saline solution in the eyes to lessen this discomfort, but also take more water or other liquids such as teas and fruit juices so that the eyes are naturally moister.
One should not put eye drops constantly because this can reduce their natural production of tears, perpetuating the use of eye drops.
Another possibility is to drip eyedrops from the pharmacy. It is not recommended to use eye drops from other people because there is a risk of contamination and there are eye drops with different properties. In the case of dry eye, an eye drop is enough like artificial tears.
Burning in the eyes is also common after entering a 'speck' in the eye, but in this case there may be a scratch of the cornea, which may need medical evaluation. Learn how to identify and treat a corneal scratch here.
