Adenitis, popularly called anguish, is inflammation of some lymph node in the body that can be caused by several factors such as acute infections or chronic diseases, for example.
Symptoms of Adenitis
- Fever;
- Feeling cold.
- Slight flushing of the skin;
- Painful sore that may be the size of a pea, a plum lump or the size of a lemon.
Adenitis is most common in the neck, armpits, and groin area, but can affect any lymph node in the body.
Causes of Adenite
An adenitis may be caused by:
- infection, acute inflammation or even due to chronic diseases.
Types of adenitis
Some types of adenitis are:
- Adenitis mesenteric;
- Infectious adenitis;
- Bacterial adenitis;
- Sebaceous adenitis.
Treatment for Adenitis
The treatment for adenitis is to eliminate its cause and sometimes it may be necessary to remove the surgically swollen ganglion.
