Neem

Neem is a medicinal plant, also known as Nim, Tree-of-life or Sacred Tree, widely used to treat skin problems.

Its scientific name is Azadirachta indica A. Juss and can be bought in natural products stores or manipulation pharmacies.

What Neem is for?

Neem is used to help treat acne, skin allergies, arthritis, bronchitis, cancer, chicken pox, cholesterol, conjunctivitis, discharge, diabetes, earache, toothache, encephalitis, headache, migraine, fever, flu, colds, liver problems, urinary infections, tuberculosis, worms and kidney problems.

Neem's properties include its antiseptic, antibiotic, antipyretic, antiparasitic, spermicidal, stimulant, soothing, fungicidal, tonic and astringent action.

How to use Neem

The used parts of Neem are its root, leaves, flowers, fruit oil and bark.

• Tea for diabetes: put 5 grams of plant leaves in 1 liter of water and boil for 20 minutes. Then let stand for 5 minutes, strain and drink 3 cups a day.

Side Effects of Neem

The side effects of Neem include changes in thyroid function and liver problems when consumed in excess.
