Mesotherapy is an aesthetic treatment that helps reduce problems in different parts of the body such as cellulite, localized fat, premature aging of the skin and even hair loss. For this, the treatment uses small injections in the skin around the affected place with a mixture of medicines, vitamins and minerals that vary according to the problem to treat.
Generally, mesotherapy does not hurt because an anesthetic cream is applied before injections and therefore no anesthesia is required, allowing you to return home shortly after the procedure, without the need for hospitalization, as in others treatments.
The best results of mesotherapy are at the level of facial skin rejuvenation, but it can also be used to treat moderate-grade cellulite, as well as reducing small amounts of localized fat, improving body contouring.
Price of Mesotherapy
The price of mesotherapy is approximately 70 reais per session. However, in most cases, it is necessary to do between 2 to 4 treatment sessions and, therefore, the total cost may be higher than 280 reais.
How Mesotherapy Works
The mesotherapy is done with the application of several injections, in the most superficial layers of the skin, with mixture of medicines, vitamins and minerals that vary according to the problem to treat. The number of sessions and the interval between sessions varies according to the problem and its degree of development.
So usually the treatment for the most common problems is done as follows:
1. Stretch Marks and Cellulite
In these cases medicines like Hyaluronidase and Collagenase are used, which help to destroy the bands of fibrotic tissue in the skin and between the fat cells, improving the appearance of the skin.
Duration of treatment: 3 to 4 sessions of mesotherapy are generally required at intervals of about 1 month to treat moderate cellulite.
2. Localized fat
Mesotherapy is a great way to replace invasive treatments such as liposuction, especially when the amount of fat is reduced and it is only necessary to improve the body contour. In these cases, it is done with the injection of medicines like Phosphatidylcholine or sodium deoxycholate that make the fat membranes more permeable, facilitating their mobilization and elimination.
Duration of treatment: It is usually necessary to do 2 to 4 sessions at intervals of 2 to 4 weeks.
3. Aging of the skin
To help rejuvenate the skin, mesotherapy uses the injection of different vitamins, such as Vitamin A, C and E, along with glycolic acid, for example. This blend allows to exfoliate the skin and regulate the production of new skin cells and collagen that ensure firmness and reduction of blemishes on the skin.
Duration of treatment: In most cases of rejuvenation only 4 sessions are needed, with intervals between 2 and 3 weeks.
4. Hair Loss
In hair loss, the injections of mesotherapy are usually made with a mixture of medicines like Minoxidil, Finasteride and Lidocaine. In addition, you can also inject a multivitamin with hormones that facilitates the growth of new hair and strengthens the remaining hair, avoiding the fall.
Duration of treatment: It usually takes 3 to 4 sessions at intervals of about 1 month to treat moderate cases of hair loss.
When mesotherapy should not be used
Although the total doses injected into the skin are reduced and the side effects are rare, mesotherapy should not be used in cases such as:
- Body mass index greater than 30 kg / m2;
- Age less than 18 years;
- Pregnancy or lactation;
- Treatment with anticoagulant medicines or for heart problems;
- Liver or kidney diseases;
- Autoimmune diseases like AIDS or lupus.
In addition, the technique should also not be used when it is necessary to use remedies for which one has hypersensitivity.
