Guinea is a medicinal plant, also known as Eve of Pipe, Tipi, True Tipi and Lord Amansa, used for therapeutic purposes because of its excellent anti-inflammatory property.
Its scientific name is Petiveria-alliacea and can be purchased at some natural products stores and handling pharmacies.

How to use guinea
For therapeutic purposes the entire plant, including its root, is used. Intake of this plant is not recommended as it can be very toxic.
- Toothache: Add the leaves of the plant in boiling water and perform the gargle with the tea 3 or 4 times a day.
- Inflammation: Tea should be applied over the injured areas, in the form of washings and compresses.
Side effects of guinea
The side effects of guinea include insomnia, hallucinations, apathy and changes in the nervous system when ingested.
Contraindications of guinea
Guinea is contraindicated for pregnant or lactating women.
