- Treatment of panic: single oral dose of 10 mg per day in the first week before increasing the dose to 20 mg per day.
- Treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder: initial dose of 20 mg, and may increase the dose up to a maximum of 60 mg per day.
Side Effects of Citalopram
The main side effects of Citalopram include nausea, dry mouth, drowsiness, increased sweating, tremors, diarrhea, headaches, insomnia, constipation and weakness.
Contraindications of Citalopram
Citalopram is contraindicated for those under 18 years of age, pregnant women, breast-feeding women, and patients being treated with anti-depressants, such as Selegiline, or with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula.
