Clofazimine is an oral antibacterial drug that acts against the bacterium Mycobacterium leprae, the cause of leprosy.

Leprosy (leprosy).
Clofazimine Side Effects
Alteration of skin pigmentation; increased liver size; enteritis; pimples; pain in the stomach area; Headache; vascular pain; dry mouth; itching; constipation; changes in taste; anemia; gastrointestinal intolerance; bowel obstruction; thromboembolism; redness on the skin; vomiting; yellowing of the skin or eyes; depression; diarrhea; abdominal pain; fatigue; lack of appetite; hepatitis; nausea; weight loss; dry skin; gastrointestinal bleeding; dizziness.
Contraindications of Clofazimine
Pregnancy Risk C; women in the lactation phase.
Mode of Use of Clofazimine
Oral use
Adults
- Administer 100 to 200 mg Clofazimine daily for up to 3 months.
Decrease the dose to 100 mg per day as soon as possible. Doses above 200 mg per day are not recommended.
