Hyaluronidase is an enzyme used to facilitate the absorption of injectable liquids, temporarily reducing the viscosity of the connective tissue making it more permeable to diffusion of liquids.
This injectable drug for subcutaneous or intramuscular administration may be known commercially as Hyalozyme.
Indications
Increase the rate of absorption and decrease the discomfort of subcutaneous or intramuscular injection of liquids; Optimize the reabsorption of excess fluid and extravasated blood in tissues; increase the effectiveness of local anesthesia.
Side effects
Formation of nodules that tend to disappear with suspension of treatment; redness.
Contraindications
In anesthetic procedures in case of preterm birth; edema due to stinging or biting of animals; directly into the corneous, infected areas; near the cancerous areas.
