In the event of a needle prick, the site of the bite should be immediately squeezed to cause bleeding to avoid possible contamination, and then washed with water, iodine solution or even plain bleach. These are first aid in case of accident with needle sting.
If there is any doubt about the possibility of the needle being contaminated with an infectious agent such as hepatitis B, C or AIDS, the victim should be taken to the hospital.
Knowing what to do in case of needle stick is very important especially when you do not know the source of the needle. An accidental needle prick can happen when children are on a playground, but it can happen with adults also on the beach or even walking barefoot on the street.
