To know if the baby is eating well it is important to consider the baby's gastric capacity and compare with the actual volume of food eaten.
Thus, a baby aged between 6 and 8 months carries in his stomach an approximate volume of 250 g. If you are between 9 - 11 months you should be able to eat 290 g of food per meal and from the first year to 2 years of age the food volume remains constant at approximately 350 g .
For the baby to eat better the consistency of the meal should be appropriate according to the volume of the stomach, considering beyond age, the gastric capacity, the energetic need of the baby.
- 6 - 8 months - pasty (without pieces)
- 9 -11 months -mole (soft texture)
- 12 - 24 months - normal (home cooked)
