Gynera is a contraceptive pill that uses active substances such as ethinylestradiol and gestodene and is used to prevent pregnancy. This medicine is produced by Bayer Laboratories and can be bought in conventional pharmacies in cartons with 21 tablets.
When it is indicated
Gynera is indicated to prevent pregnancy, however, this contraceptive pill does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases.

How to use
The method of use of Gynera consists of:
- Start a card from the 1st day of menstruation;
- Take 1 tablet daily, at about the same time, with water if necessary;
- Start a Diane 35 chart from the 1st day of menstruation
- Take 1 tablet daily, at about the same time, with water if necessary;
- Follow the direction of the arrows, following the order of the days of the week, until taking all 21 dragees;
- Take a 7 day break. During this period, about 2 to 3 days after the last pill is ingested, bleeding similar to menstruation should occur;
- Start new card on the 8th day, even if there is still bleeding.
What to do when you forget to take Gynera
When forgetfulness is less than 12 hours from the usual time, take the forgotten tablet and ingest the next tablet at the usual time. In these cases, the protection of this contraceptive is maintained.
When forgetting is more than 12 hours of the usual time, consult the following table:

When more than 1 tablet in the same pack is forgotten, consult your doctor.
When vomiting or severe diarrhea occurs 3 to 4 hours after taking the tablet, it is recommended to use another contraceptive method for the next 7 days.
Side Effects of Gynera
The main side effects include nausea, abdominal pain, increased body weight, headache, mood changes, breast pain, vomiting, diarrhea, fluid retention, decreased sex drive, breast enlargement, urticaria, allergic reactions and clot formation.
Contraindications of Gynera
This contraindication is contraindicated in pregnancy, in case of suspected pregnancy, in men, in breastfeeding, in women with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula and in case of:
- thrombosis or previous history of thrombosis;
- current or past history of embolism in the lung or other parts of the body;
- heart attack or stroke, or previous history of heart attack or stroke;
- current or past history of diseases that may be indicative of a heart attack such as angina pectoris or stroke;
- high risk of formation of arterial or venous clots;
- current or past history of migraine accompanied by symptoms such as blurred vision, difficulty speaking, weakness or numbness in any part of the body;
- liver disease or previous history of liver disease;
- current or previous history of cancer;
- liver tumor or previous history of liver tumor;
- unexplained vaginal bleeding.
This medicine should not be used if the woman is using another hormonal contraceptive.
