Bollworm is a medicinal plant widely used to treat hemorrhoids due to its haemostatic, vasoconstricting, healing and anti-inflammatory properties.
Its scientific name is Polygonum persicaria, and is also known as watercress, black pepper, persicaria, capiçoba, cataia or curage, and can be bought in natural food stores and in some manipulation pharmacies.
For what purpose and properties
Erva-de-Bicho is a plant used to help treat external hemorrhoids due to its anti-inflammatory, healing, hemostatic and vasoconstricting properties.
How to use
The used parts of the weed are leaves, roots and seeds, being consecrated its use against hemorrhoids, in baths of seat or healing pomade. However the herb tea can also be used to wash the skin in case of pimples, lesions and rashes. The tea of the shoots of this plant can be used in superficial wounds due to its cicatrizant action. A paste made with the roots of the plant can be used in the treatment of scabies.
Shower toilet seat
Ingredients:
- 20 g of Bollworm
- 1 liter of boiling water
Method of preparation:
Add the herb in a bowl with boiling water and let it blend. When it is warm, strain and remain seated in the bowl for about 20 minutes or until the water cools. Make this bath seat about 3 to 4 times a day.
Healing ointment
This ointment is indicated for treating various skin problems, such as closed wounds, ulcers, varicose veins and even hemorrhoids.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons dried herb leaf
- 100 ml mineral oil
- 30 ml of liquid paraffin
Method of preparation
Put the dried leaves in a saucepan and cover with mineral oil. Turn on the low heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Then strain and mix this oil with the same amount of liquid paraffin until a homogeneous mixture is formed. Pour into a glass container and keep covered tightly.
Tablets or worm capsules can be found in health food stores to fight internal hemorrhoids.
When not to use
Bovine Herb is contraindicated in pregnancy, during breastfeeding and in children.
