Indications
Clodronate is indicated for the treatment of multiple myeloma, excess of calcium in the blood due to malignant tumors or bone metastases, dissolution of the bone due to metastases of cancer of breast, prostate or thyroid.
How to use
The use of this medication can be done orally, and it is usually recommended 1600 mg in a single dose or divided into two doses. However, it should not be taken with nemcomer milk one hour before or one hour after taking the medication.
The medicine can also be used as an injection, with the daily dose being 300 mg daily through a vein infusion.
Side effects
Some side effects of Clodronate include decreased blood calcium, protein elimination through the urine, skin hypersensitivity, acute renal failure, nausea and vomiting.
Contraindications
This medication should not be used during pregnancy, breastfeeding, acute inflammation of the stomach or intestines, and decreased renal function.
