Sofosbuvir is a tablet-based medicine used to treat chronic hepatitis C in adults. This medicine is able to cure up to 90% of cases of hepatitis C because of its action that prevents the multiplication of the hepatitis virus, weakening it and helping the body to eliminate it completely.
Sofosbuvir is sold under the trade name Sovaldi and is produced by Gilead laboratories. Its use should only be made under medical prescription and should never be used as a single remedy for the treatment of hepatitis C and should therefore be used in combination with other remedies for chronic hepatitis C.

Side effects of Sovaldi include decreased appetite and weight, insomnia, depression, headache, dizziness, anemia, nasopharyngitis, cough, difficulty breathing, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, fatigue, irritability, redness and itchy skin, shivering and pain muscles and joints.
Contraindications of Sofosbuvir
Sofosbuvir (Sovaldi) is contraindicated in patients below 18 years of age and in patients with hypersensitivity to the components of the formula. In addition, this remedy should be avoided in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
