There are medicinal plants, such as chamomile, hops, fennel or peppermint, which have very effective antispasmodic and tranquilizing properties in reducing intestinal colic. In addition, some of them also help to eliminate the gases:
1. Bay tea, chamomile and fennel
A great home remedy for intestinal colic is laurel tea with chamomile and fennel because it has antispasmodic properties, which also help decrease the discomfort caused by gases.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water;
- 4 bay leaves;
- 1 teaspoon of chamomile;
- 1 tablespoon of fennel;
- 1 glass of water.
Method of preparation
To prepare this tea, simply boil for 5 minutes the bay leaves with the chamomile and the fennel dissolved in 1 glass of water. Then you should strain and have a cup of this tea every 2 hours.
2. Chamomile tea, hops and fennel
This blend helps eliminate intestinal cramps and excess gas as well as promote healthy digestive secretions.
Ingredients
- 30 ml of chamomile extract;
- 30 mL hop extract;
- 30 mL of fennel extract.
Method of preparation
Mix all extracts and store in a dark glass jar. One half teaspoon of this mixture should be taken 3 times a day, about 15 minutes before meals, for a maximum of 2 months.
3. Peppermint tea
Peppermint contains potent essential oils with antispasmodic properties that help relieve intestinal colic and reduce gas.
Ingredients
- 250 mL of boiling water;
- 1 teaspoon dried peppermint.
Method of preparation
Pour the boiling water into a teapot over the peppermint and then cover, leave to infuse for 10 minutes and strain. One can drink three ch'avenas of this tea during the day.
It is also important to remember that drinking plenty of water also helps in the treatment of intestinal colic.
