How to use Floratil
The medicine Floratil should be taken fasting or half an hour before meals. In the case of patients who are taking antibiotics or undergoing chemotherapy, they should take Floratil before ingesting the antibiotic or chemotherapeutics.
In order to use the medicine correctly, the whole capsule should be swallowed, without chewing, accompanied with water. However, small children and people with difficulty swallowing, can open the capsules and mix them in water or bottle, for example.
The use of this medicine should only be done by doctor's appointment, however, it is usually recommended:
- Severe cases: 2 days to take 3 capsules of 250 mg per day and then 3 days taking 2 capsules of 200 mg per day;
- Less serious cases: 3 capsules of 250 mg on the first day, 2 capsules of 200 mg on the second day and 1 capsule of 200 mg on the third day.
Usually the treatment is done for 3 days and, if the symptoms subside at the end of 5 days, one should go to the doctor to change the medicines.

Contraindications of Floratil
