Swelling of the body can be resolved quickly if there is no kidney or heart disease involved. The 3 steps to be taken to deflate are:
- Drink plenty of fluids, at least 1.5 liter of water per day including water, juices and teas;
- Do some exercise, like hiking. Staying a long time sitting or lying down reduces the venous return, making the legs more swollen and heavy;
- Avoid salty foods such as canned and sausage because they are high in sodium, which causes the body to retain liquids.
For this, replace the salt with fine herbs and spices that give a better flavor to the meals and do not cause the swelling.
It seems strange that, in order to deflate, one must drink a lot of water, but that's the way it is. The more water you drink, the less water your body will retain.
To potentiate the treatment, it is worth eating pumpkin and cucumber, two foods that help to fight against the retention of liquids and can be easily found in the markets.
