Potassium permanganate is an antiseptic substance with a bactericidal action, which can be used to clean wounds and facilitate the healing of the skin.
Potassium permanganate may be commercially available under the name Prematon, in the form of a tablet which is to be dissolved in water.
What is it for
Potassium permanganate is indicated for the cleaning and disinfection of wounds and ulcers, being a coadjuvant in the treatment of chicken pox, candidiasis or other skin wounds.
How to use
Dilute 1 100 mg tablet in 4 liters of warm water. Then the affected region should be washed with this mixture or remain immersed in the water for a maximum of 10 minutes daily after bathing until the wounds disappear.
Side effects
When it is immersed in the water with the product for more than 10 minutes it can appear itching and irritation of the skin, and in some cases the skin can be stained.
Contraindications
No contraindications were found for potassium permanganate.
