Bullous pemphigoid is an autoimmune skin disease that causes the appearance of large reddish blisters on the skin, which do not break easily.
Bullous pemphigoid has a cure, however, it is not known exactly what causes the onset of these blisters, but are related to exposure to ultraviolet radiation, radiation or after the use of certain remedies.
Symptoms of bullous pemphigoid
The symptoms of bullous pemphigoid are:
- Lightly reddish blisters that appear on the skin, accompanied by itching, which when broken, although very painful, leave no scars.
These blisters can affect the whole body but are more common in areas of folds, such as the groin, elbows, and knees.

Treatment for bullous pemphigoid
The treatment for bullous pemphigoid is made with the consumption of anti-inflammatory drugs corticosteroids or immunosuppressants. The duration of the disease depends on the patient's condition, which can take weeks, months or years. Although not an easily resolved disease, bullous pemphigoid has a cure, and can be reached with the remedies indicated by the dermatologist.
Diagnosis of bullous pemphigoid
The diagnosis of bullous pemphigoid can be made by the dermatologist after observing the affected region, and may use complementary tests, such as biopsy.
