These home remedies are great to complement the clinical treatment of rheumatoid arthritis because they have anti-inflammatory, diuretic and soothing properties that decrease pain, swelling and inflammation improving the quality of life.
Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammation of the joints due to a change in the immune system, which causes a lot of pain and discomfort and that if left untreated can leave the fingers and other joints deformed. That is why it is important to always carry out the treatment indicated by the doctor, but some ways to fight the symptoms naturally are:
1. Herbal tea
This tea has anti-inflammatory, diuretic and healing properties that when used together have their effects potentiated.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups water
- 1 tablespoon of burdock roots
- 2 of fennel
- 2 of horsetail
Method of preparation:
Boil the water and add the medicinal plants in a pot and let it stand for about 5 to 7 minutes. Coar, allow to sweeten and take 1 cup, half an hour before lunch and dinner.
2. Arnica ointment
This homemade ointment is indicated for rheumatoid arthritis because it stimulates blood irrigation, has an anti-inflammatory effect and relieves pain.
Ingredients:
- 5 g of beeswax
- 45 ml of olive oil
- 4 tablespoons of chopped arnica leaves and flowers
Method of preparation:
In a water bath, place the ingredients in a pan and simmer over low heat for a few minutes. Then extinguish the fire and leave the ingredients in the pan for a few hours to macerate. Before it cools, you should strain and store the liquid in containers with a lid. They should always be kept in a dry, dark and airy place.
3. Sage tea and rosemary
They help reduce the pain caused by arthritis and rheumatism, being a great natural anti-inflammatory.
Ingredients:
- 6 leaves of sage
- 3 sprigs of rosemary
- 300 ml of boiling water
Method of preparation:
Add all the ingredients in a pot and let stand for 5 to 7 minutes. Coar, let it burn and take this home remedy 2 times a day.

4. Friction with essential oils
Rubbing your joints with this blend of essential oils is also a great natural way to feel better.
Ingredients:
- 10ml camphor
- 10ml of eucalyptus oil
- 10ml of turpentine oil
- 70 ml peanut oil
Method of preparation:
Simply mix all ingredients and store in a clean container, and rub several times a day to relieve discomfort.
5. Fortified turmeric tea
It is a tea rich in antioxidants that increase immunity and decrease the pain and inflammation caused by arthritis.
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon dried turmeric leaves
- 1 of licorice
- 2 of mallow
- 1 cup boiling water
Method of preparation:
Place the herbs inside a teapot with boiling water and let it stand for 7 to 10 minutes. Strain, allow to sweeten and take 3 cups of this tea per day.
Another good natural solution to arthritis is to eat a salad dish seasoned with 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is made from fermented apple juice and its enzymes dissolve the calcium deposits of the joints, being ideal to combat this disease.
