The low belly in pregnancy is more common during the third trimester, as a consequence of the increase in the size of the baby. In most cases, the lower belly during pregnancy is normal and may be related to factors such as weakness of the muscles and ligaments of the belly, previous pregnancies, weight of the pregnant woman or approaching the moment of delivery, for example.

1. Strength of muscles and ligaments
The low belly in pregnancy may be related to the strength of the muscles and ligaments that support the growing uterus. Some women may have weakened or poorly toned tummy muscles, causing the belly to grow shorter due to lack of support.
2. Previous pregnancies
If the woman has been pregnant before, it is very likely that she will have a low belly in a second or third pregnancy. This is because, during pregnancy, the muscles and ligaments become more weakened, losing strength for later pregnancies to hold the baby at the same height.
3. Approaching the date of delivery
The low belly may also be related to the baby's position. As the pregnancy progresses, especially in the days leading up to the delivery, the baby can move downwards to fit the pelvic area, causing the belly to be lower.
4. Baby's position
The lower belly may be related to the baby's position, which can be found in the lateral position.
In addition, in some cases, the lower belly may be related to the baby. A lower than normal height of the bottom of the uterus may mean that the baby is not growing normally or that there is not enough fluid in the water bag.
5. Weight gain
Some pregnant women who gain a lot of weight during pregnancy may notice a lower belly than normal. In addition, the greater the baby's weight, the more likely it is that the tummy will become lower.
