Amplictil

Amplictil is an oral and injectable medication that has Chlorpromazine as its active substance.

This medication is an antipsychotic indicated for several psychological disorders such as schizophrenia and psychosis.

Amplictil blocks dopamine impulses, decreasing the symptoms of psychological illnesses, it also has a sedative effect that calms and relaxes patients.

Indications of Amplictil

Psychosis; schizophrenia; nausea; vomiting; anxiety; uninterrupted hiccups; eclampsia.

Side effects of Amplictil

Change in retinal pigmentation; anemia; changes in the electroencephalogram; cardiac arrhythmia; angina; increased intraocular pressure; weight gain; increased appetite; breast enlargement (in both sexes); increase or decrease in heart rate; tiredness; constipation; dry mouth; diarrhea; pupil dilation; headache; decreased sexual desire; skin allergy; fever; urticaria; edema; yellowish color on the skin or eyes; insomnia; excessive menstruation; inhibition of ejaculation; muscle necrosis; cardiac arrest; pressure fall; urinary retention; sensitivity to light; inability to remain seated; torticollis; difficulties to move; sedation; tremors; somnolence.

Contraindications for Amplictil

Pregnant or lactating women; heart disease; brain or nervous system damage; children under 8 months of age; Hipersensibility to any of the formula's components.

How to use Amplictil

Oral use

Adults

• Psychoses: Administer 30 to 75 mg of Amplictil daily, the dose can be divided into 4 doses. If necessary, increase the dose twice a week, by 20 to 50 mg, until the symptoms are controlled.
• Nausea and vomiting: Administer 10 to 25 mg of Amplictil every 4 to 6 hours, as long as necessary.

Kids

• Psychosis, nausea and vomiting: Administer 0.55 mg of Amplictil per kg of body weight every 4 to 6 hours.
