Zurampic is a medicine indicated for the treatment of gout, helping to lower levels of uric acid in the blood.
This medicine is in the composition Lesinurad, a compound that works by reducing the amount of uric acid in the blood, thus avoiding the accumulation of urate crystals around the joints.
How to take
Generally, the recommended dose is 1 200 mg tablet taken once daily, in the morning.
Zurampic tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of water and food.
Side effects
Some of the side effects of Zurampic may include flu, headache, changes in blood tests, heartburn, kidney stones or dehydration.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated for patients with tumor lysis syndrome, Lesch-Nyhan syndrome, kidney problems, end-stage renal disease or who have undergone kidney transplantation or dialysis and for patients with allergy to any of the components of the formula.
Also, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have lactose intolerance or some other health problem, you should talk to your doctor before starting treatment.
