Some examples of prohibited breastfeeding remedies are: cyclophosphamide sold commercially as Cytoxan, Neosar and Genuxal, and cyclosporin sold as Sandimmun.
Breastfeeding pills should only be taken if they are really needed, if not for a long time and in low doses, even those who say they do not interfere with breastfeeding.
This contraindication must be respected because these remedies can pass into breast milk and impair the development of the baby, or even interfere with the production of milk itself, decreasing the amount. In addition, the baby's body is still in development and when the remedy reaches your body through the breast milk, it should be expelled by the kidneys. As these are not yet properly prepared for such, toxins can accumulate in your body and cause greater damage.
