The cure for postpartum depression can be achieved when treatment is instituted early. Women diagnosed with postpartum depression should preferably be treated with natural resources, since the specific medicines for depression pass into breast milk and they have to stop breastfeeding.
Currently the most recommended natural options are omega 3 supplementation, acupuncture, performing massages and moderate physical exercises, and psychotherapy sessions. Only if these options do not show the expected effect should it be recommended to use antidepressants may be indicated, however, in more severe cases, the doctor may recommend its use early on.
