Neumega is an injectable medicine that stimulates the production of blood platelets. Oprelvecin is a substance responsible for stimulating the reproduction of blood cells.
Indications
Preventive treatment of thrombocytopenia.
Side effects
Arterial deliveries; fluid retention; oral moniliasis; cardiac arrhythmia; blurred vision; dehydration; weakness; reddish eyes; exfoliative dermatitis. (Among others, these are the most frequent side effects)
Contraindications
Pregnancy risk C; Breast-feeding; patients in myeloablative chemotherapy.
How to use
Adults: 50 mcg per kg body weight / day. It is recommended to discontinue treatment 2 days before the next planned chemotherapy cycle.
Children: efficacy not established.
Other important information
The medicine should be kept under refrigeration (2 and 8ºC); Do not shake; do not freeze.
