The guaco syrup is a herbal remedy that has as active principle the medicinal plant Guaco ( Mikania glomerata Spreng ).
This medicine acts as a bronchodilator, dilating the airways and expectorant, acting as an aid in the elimination of respiratory secretions, being useful in case of respiratory diseases such as bronchitis and colds.
What is it for
Guaco syrup is indicated to combat respiratory problems such as colds, colds, sinusitis, rhinitis, bronchitis, phlegm cough, asthma, whooping cough, inflammation of the throat, hoarseness.
How to take
It is recommended to take the guaco syrup as follows:
- Adults: 5 ml, 3 times daily;
- Children older than 5 years: 2.5 ml, 3 times daily;
- Children between 2 and 4 years: 2.5 ml, only 2 times a day.
Its use should be 7 days, and in the most severe cases, 14 days, and should not be used any longer. If the symptoms do not go away, a new medical appointment is recommended.
The syrup should be shaken before use.
Possible side effects
Guanaco syrup can cause vomiting, diarrhea, increased blood pressure. People who are allergic to syrup may find it difficult to breathe and cough.
Contraindications
Pregnancy risk C; women in the lactation phase; children under 2 years; diabetics. Its use is not indicated for people with chronic respiratory diseases, and the suspicion of tuberculosis or cancer, for example, should be removed. It is not recommended to use it at the same time as the medicinal plant Purple Ipê ( Tabebuia avellanedae ).
