This way, this medicine can only be used in the hospital, since it is necessary to administer directly into the vein for a few hours, in order to have the best effect.
What is it for
The antibiotic with ceftazimide and avibactam can be used to treat complicated infections:

In addition, this antibiotic can also be used in infections caused by gram-negative bacteria, when other forms of treatment do not work.
How to use
The dose of antibiotic is 2 grams of ceftazimide and 0.5 grams of antibacterial every 8 hours, administered for 2 hours directly into the vein. Most of the time, the treatment is done for 7 to 14 days, but in cases of urinary tract infection it can last only 5 to 10 days.
However, in patients with kidney disease, the dose may be halved, as directed by your doctor.
