Indications
Emend is indicated to prevent nausea and vomiting after surgery or in patients undergoing chemotherapy.
Mode of Use
Emend is used by adults in the form of tablets, and usually the doctor indicates in the case of the prevention of nausea and vomiting induced by chemotherapy 125 mg, 1 hour before chemotherapy; followed by 80 mg once daily in the morning in the next 2 days.
In the case of Prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting it is recommended 40 mg 3 hours before induction of anesthesia.
Side effects
Some side effects of Emend include fatigue, weakness, constipation or diarrhea, lack of appetite, nausea and hiccups.
Contraindications
The use of Emend is contraindicated in pregnancy, during breastfeeding, and for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
