Vanisto is a powdered oral inhalation device of indiumidinium bromide, indicated for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, also known as COPD, in which the airways become inflamed and thickened, usually due to smoking, being a disease that slowly worsens.
Thus, meclidinium bromide, which is the active substance of Vanisto, helps dilate the airways and facilitates the entry of air into the lungs, alleviating the symptoms of COPD and thus reducing respiratory distress.
This medicine can be purchased in packs of 7 or 30 doses, with each inhalation containing a dose of 62.5 mcg of sodium chloride.
Price
The price of Vanisto ranges from 120 to 150 reais, depending on the amount of the medicine.
How to take
The inhaler containing the medicine comes packaged in a sealed tray with an anti-humidity sachet, which should not be ingested or inhaled.
When the device is removed from the tray, it will be in the closed position and should not be opened until it will be used, since every time the device is opened and closed, the dose is lost. Inhalation should be done as follows:
- Open the cap at the time of inhalation, without shaking the inhaler;
- Slide the cover all the way down until it clicks;
- Holding the inhaler away from your mouth, exhale as much as you can so that the next inspiration is more effective;
- Place the mouthpiece between your lips and close them firmly, taking care not to block the ventilation with your fingers;
- Take a long, steady, deep breath through the mouth, holding the air in the lung for at least 3 or 4 seconds;
- Remove the inhaler from your mouth and exhale slowly;
- Close the inhaler by sliding the cap upward until the nozzle is closed.
In adults and the elderly under 65 years, the recommended dose is one inhalation once daily. In children less than 18 years of age and older than 65 years, the dose should be adjusted by the physician.
