The carbohydrate diet is advised to decrease intestinal inflammation caused by problems such as excessive gas, poor digestion, Crohn's disease and Irritable Bowel Syndrome, as it helps reduce the symptoms of abdominal pain, diarrhea, gas and malabsorption, and allows the body to begin repairing intestinal cells.
This diet is based on the consumption of carbohydrate foods that give less work to be digested, such as boiled vegetables and shelled fruits, which helps to soothe and regenerate the bowel wall. Already foods that need more work during digestion or that stimulate a greater production of gases, such as milk or beans, should be avoided. Take the test and find out if you have Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
List of foods allowed
The foods allowed in this diet are those that are easily digested, such as:
- Meats: chicken, turkey, eggs, beef, lamb, pork;
- Cereals: rice, rice flour, sorghum, oats, rice noodles;
- Easy-to-digest vegetables: asparagus, beetroot, broccoli, cauliflower, carrot, celery, cucumber, eggplant, lettuce, mushrooms, peppers, pumpkin, spinach, tomato or watercress;
- Unpeeled fruits: avocado, banana, coconut, grapefruit, grape, kiwi, lemon, mango, melon, orange, papaya, peach, pineapple, plum or mandarin;

List of prohibited foods
Foods that should be avoided in the diet for inflammation of the bowel are:
- Processed meats: sausage, sausage, bacon, ham, mortadella, salami, turkey breast;
- Cereals: wheat flour, rye;
- Dairy: milk and processed cheese, such as cheddar and pollen;

In some cases, the use of coffee can also irritate the bowel and bring discomfort. Thus, it is important to observe the appearance of symptoms after consumption of coffee and, if necessary, to use decaffeinated coffee or to withdraw this beverage from the diet.
Because it works
By eliminating complex carbohydrates, lactose, sucrose and other industrialized dietary ingredients, the digestive system has less work, allowing the body to initiate a process of recovery of injured intestinal cells.
In this way, there is a reduction in the amount of toxins consumed and the intestinal flora is regularized, avoiding the appearance of inflammations that provoke new crises of symptoms.
