Telithromycin is a medicine known commercially as Ketek.
This oral medication is an antibacterial indicated for the treatment of bronchitis and other diseases of the respiratory system.
Its efficacy is due to the interference that it makes in the mechanism of action of the bacteria that end up weakened and eliminated of the organism, thus occurring the decrease of inflammation of the respiratory tract and a better passage of air to the lungs.
Indications of Telithromycin
Chronic bronchitis; pneumonia; sinusitis; tonsillitis; pharyngitis.
Side effects of Telithromycin
Diarrhea, nausea; vomiting; pain in the abdomen; gases; vertigo; Headache; vaginal candidiasis; changes in taste.
Contraindications of Telithromycin
Pregnancy risk C; women in the lactation phase; history of hepatitis; children under 18 years of age; Hipersensibility to any of the formula's components.
How to use Telithromycin
Oral use
- Bronchitis and sinusitis: Administer 800 mg of Telithromycin once a day. The treatment should last 5 days.
- Pneumonia: Administer 800 mg of Telithromycin once a day for a period of 7 to 10 days.
