Ovidrel is a medicine indicated for the treatment of infertility which is composed of a substance called alfacoriogonadotropin. This is a gonadotrophin-like substance found naturally in the woman's body during pregnancy, and is related to reproduction and fertility.
Ovidrel is produced by the Merck laboratory and is marketed in a ready-to-use pre-filled syringe containing 250 micrograms of alphodongonadotropin in 0.5 ml of solution.

Treatment for infertility in women. This medication may be indicated to induce ovulation in women who can not ovulate and to help develop and mature follicles in women undergoing the treatment for pregnancy such as in vitro fertilization.

Contraindications of Ovidrel
Ovidrel should not be used in:

- Patients with ovarian cancer, uterus, breast or tumors in the hypothalamus or pituitary gland;
- Patients with severe vein inflammation, coagulation problems or in case of allergy to the drug or similar ingredients contained in Ovidrel.
