What to do when breathing in is mouth-to-mouth breathing because if the subject is breathing for more than 4 minutes, they may die. To make mouth-to-mouth breathing you should:
- Lay the person on their belly up;
- Loosen the tight clothing of the victim, as shown in figure 1;
- Stretch the subject's neck back, leaving the chin up, as picture 2 shows;
- Open the subject's mouth and observe if there is any object in his throat, removing it;
- Cover the victim's nose with the fingers, as shown in figure 3;
- Put the mouth in the person's mouth and throw air out, causing the chest to rise;
- Repeat step 5 and 6 for 20 minutes, or until the victim breathes on his own again.
The victim may take more than half an hour to return to breathing alone and to do the mouth-to-mouth breathing during all this time can be tiring and, therefore, one must take turns with another person.
When the individual returns to breathe alone, one should allow oneself to breathe freely. However, it is important to be aware of your breathing because the victim may stop breathing again and it is necessary to start the process again.
