Nebacetin is an antibiotic ointment used to treat infections of the skin or mucous membranes such as open sores or burns on the skin, infections around the hairs or outside the ears, infected acne, cuts or pus sores.
This ointment is composed of two antibiotics, bacitracin and neomycin, which together that are effective in eliminating a wide range of bacteria, fighting and preventing infections.

How to use
You should pass the ointment 2 to 5 times a day over the whole area to be treated, with the aid of a gauze. Treatment should be continued for 2 to 3 days after symptoms disappear. However, the treatment can not be extended for more than 10 days.
Before passing the ointment, the area of the skin to be treated should be washed and dry, and free of creams, lotions or other products.
Side effects
Some of the side effects of Nebacetin may include skin allergy reactions with symptoms such as redness, swelling, local irritation or itching, changes in kidney function, or problems with balance and hearing.
Contraindications
Nebacetin is contraindicated for patients with diseases or problems in kidney function, history of balance or hearing problems, and patients with allergies to Neomycin, Bacitracin or any of the components of the formula.
Also, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have neuromuscular diseases like Myasthenia gravis, or if you are taking aminoglycoside antibiotics you should talk to your doctor before starting this medicine.
