Chromoglycine is the active principle of the antiallergic used especially in the prevention of asthma that can be of oral, nasal or ophthalmic administration.
It is easily found in pharmacies as generic or under the trade names of Cromolerg or Intal. Maxicron or Rilan are similar medicines.
Indications
Prevention of bronchial asthma; bronchospasm
Side effects
Oral: bad taste in the mouth; cough; difficulty breathing; nausea; irritation or dryness in the throat; sneezing; nasal congestion.
Nasal: burning; needles or irritation in the nose; sneezing
Ophthalmic: burning or pricking in the eye.
Contraindications
Pregnancy risk B; acute asthma attack; allergic rhinitis; seasonal allergic conjunctivitis; vernal keratitis; vernal conjunctivitis; cerato conjuntivitis.
How to use
Oral use
Adults and children over 2 years (nebulization): for asthma prevention 2 inhalations of 15 minutes / 4x a day with intervals of 4 to 6 hours.
Via Aerossol
Adults and children over 5 years (prevention of asthma): 2 inhalations 4x a day at 6 hour intervals.
Nasal route
Adults and children over 6 years (prevention and treatment of allergic rhinitis): spray 2% make 2 applications in each nostril 3 or 4X per day. 4% spray make 1 application in each nostril 3 or 4 times a day.
Ophthalmic use
Adults and children over 4 years: 1 drop in Conjunctival bag 4 to 6x per day.
