Trapidil is the active substance of a vasodilator and antiplatelet medicine known commercially as Travisco.
This oral medication is indicated for the treatment of ischemic heart disease and for the prevention of stroke. Its action consists in producing a dilation of the arteries and veins, reducing the resistance and pressure in these vessels.

How to use Trapidil
Oral use
Adults
- Administer 200 mg twice daily. In the prevention of post-coronary angioplasty restenosis the dose may reach 600 mg per day.
Seniors
- Start treatment with smaller doses and gradually increase under strict medical monitoring.
