How to use Level
Each pack of Contraceptive Level has 21 tablets, which should be taken every day, one per day, always at the same time. After 21 days, you should take a 7-day break, during which time menstruation will occur.
A new pack should be taken on the 8th day after taking the last tablet, even if menstruation is still occurring, for the next 21 days.
If you have never taken the pill, it should be started on the first day of your period and contraceptive safety is only achieved after the tablets have been used for 7 consecutive days.
What to do if you forget to take the Level
- Forgetfulness of 1 tablet: you should take it as soon as the patient remembers, administering the following at the same time as usual, taking 2 tablets in a single day.
- Forgetfulness of 2 tablets in the first or second week: you should take 2 tablets of Level as soon as you remember, and 2 more tablets the next day at the same time as usual. You should then take 1 Level tablet a day as you were doing. However, in this case one should resort to using condoms for 7 days in a row.
- Forgetfulness of 3 tablets followed over the course of the cycle or 2 tablets followed in the third week: treatment should be discontinued and restarting the pill on the 8th day after administration of the last tablet. During this time you should use a condom for 14 consecutive days to take Level followed.
Level Side Effects
The Pill Level can cause nausea, vomiting, bleeding between menses, tightness and pain in the breasts, headache, nervousness, change in libido, mood and weight, onset of depressive states, insomnia, varicose veins and swelling. In some cases, it can lead to vaginal discharge, decreased contact lens tolerance or redness throughout the body.
However, these effects tend to disappear at the end of 3 months of use of the pill.
Contraindications of Level
The Contraceptive Level should not be used by pregnant or lactating women, thromboembolic processes, liver problems, abnormal bleeding, carcinoma of the breasts or endometrium, jaundice of pregnancy or prior to the use of the contraceptive.
In addition, this drug is contraindicated in the administration of barbiturates, carbamazepine, hydantoin, phenylbutazone, sulfonamides, chlorpromazine, penicillin, rifampicin, neomycin, ampicillin, tetracycline, chloramphenicol, phenacetin, pyrazolone and St. John's wort.
