Amiodarone hydrochloride is the main compound of Atlazil, a drug used to combat heart arrhythmias, which is duly regulated by the FDA.
Indications
Atrial flutter, cardiac arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation.
Contraindications
Pregnancy, lactation, sinus node disease, sinus bradycardia without pacemaker, sinoatrial and atrioventricular block of 2nd and 3rd, hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism.
Side effects
Nausea, vomiting, constipation, altered taste, ataxia, tremor, paresthesia, muscle weakness, headache, insomnia, dizziness, pulmonary fibrosis, pneumonia, depression, bradyadria, hypotension, deposition of amiodarnoa crystals on the cornea.
How to use
From 100 to 200 mg 2 or 3 times daily.
