Interleukin 2 is an anti-cancer drug known commercially as Interleukin.
This injectable drug is used in the treatment of kidney cancer. The action of Interleukin 2 is the strengthening of the immune system of cells and the production of cytokines, a key substance for the defense of the body.
Indications of Interleukin 2
Kidney cell cancer; melanoma.
Side Effects of Interleukin 2
Low pressure; increased heart rate; diarrhea; vomiting; chills; fever; somnolence; anxiety; dizziness; decreased urine volume; difficulty breathing; increased cough; skin rash; itching; anemia; decreased white blood cells; capillary leak syndrome.
Contraindications of Interleukin 2
Pregnant or lactating women; individuals under the age of 18; transplanted patients with abnormalities in lung function; patients with heart, kidney, lung, liver, or Central Nervous System problems; patients with hypersensitivity to any component of the formula.
How to use Interleukin 2
Injectable Use
Adults
- Cancer in Kidney Cells and Melanoma : Perform 2 cycles of treatment for 5 days, separated by a period of 9 days. Each cycle consists of: On administration of 600, 000 units / kg, by intravenous infusion of 15 minutes, every 8 hours for 14 doses, or until the occurrence of non-tolerable adverse reactions.
Maximum dose : 28 doses per cycle.
