How to use
The recommended dose of Perlutan is one ampoule between the 7th and 10th day, preferably on the 8th day after the start of each menstruation. One should count the first day of menstrual bleeding as day number 1.
This medicinal product should always be administered intramuscularly deep, by a healthcare professional, preferably in the gluteal region or, alternatively, in the arm.
Who should not use
Perlutan should not be used in women with the following conditions:
- Allergy to any component of the formula;
- Pregnancy or suspected pregnancy;
- Breast-feeding;
- Breast cancer or genital organ;
- Severe headache with focal neurologic symptoms;
- Very high pressure;
- Vascular disease;
- History of thromboembolic disorders;
- History of heart disease;
- Diabetes associated with vascular disease or with more than 20 years;
- Systemic lupus erythematosus with positive anti-phospholipid antibodies;
- History of disorders or diseases of the liver.
In addition, if the person has had a large surgery with prolonged immobilization, has had abnormal uterine bleeding or vaginal bleeding, ie a smoker, should inform the doctor, so that he can evaluate if this treatment is safe.
