First aid in traffic is:
- Flag the location of the accident to avoid other accidents;
- Observe how the victims of the accident are;
- Call an ambulance : call 192, police : call 190 and / or firemen : call 193 if necessary;
- Keep the victims calm;
- If the individual is wearing a helmet, do not take it off;
- Do not give liquids to the victim to drink;
- Avoid tampering with victims;
- Check if the individual is breathing alone or if they are stuck in some place;
- Keep away from fire and explosion hazards,
- Observe for external bleeding points and try to stop it;
- Keep victim warm while waiting for help.
To facilitate first aid in traffic, individuals may have a kit in the car that includes:
- 1 pack of sterile compresses, with small, large and medium size;
- 1 pack of band-aids;
- 1 pack of sterile dressings, large, medium and small size;
- 1 pack of cotton;
- 1 vial of 0.9% saline solution;
- 4 ligatures;
- 1 forceps;
- 1 scissors;
- 1 flashlight;
- 1 pack of disposable gloves;
- Analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, allergy and ointment medications for burns and insect bites;
- 1 anti-fire blanket if possible.
In a traffic accident there can be serious injuries, but first aid can help save the life of the victim.
