First aid in traffic

First aid in traffic is:

• Flag the location of the accident to avoid other accidents;
• Observe how the victims of the accident are;
• Call an ambulance : call 192, police : call 190 and / or firemen : call 193 if necessary;
• Keep the victims calm;
• If the individual is wearing a helmet, do not take it off;
• Do not give liquids to the victim to drink;
• Avoid tampering with victims;
• Check if the individual is breathing alone or if they are stuck in some place;
• Keep away from fire and explosion hazards,
• Observe for external bleeding points and try to stop it;
• Keep victim warm while waiting for help.

To facilitate first aid in traffic, individuals may have a kit in the car that includes:

• 1 pack of sterile compresses, with small, large and medium size;
• 1 pack of band-aids;
• 1 pack of sterile dressings, large, medium and small size;
• 1 pack of cotton;
• 1 vial of 0.9% saline solution;
• 4 ligatures;
• 1 forceps;
• 1 scissors;
• 1 flashlight;
• 1 pack of disposable gloves;
• Analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, allergy and ointment medications for burns and insect bites;
• 1 anti-fire blanket if possible.

In a traffic accident there can be serious injuries, but first aid can help save the life of the victim.
