First aid in the sport is mainly related to the muscular injuries, injuries and fractures in any type of physical activity.
First aid in muscle injury
First aid in muscle injury include:
- Sitting or lying down;
- Place the injured part in the most comfortable position. If it is a leg or arm, raise the limb;
- Apply a gauze, or cold compress, or ice, and on top a ligature for half an hour;
- Firmly compress the injured part with several compresses and fasten them with a bandage.
In sports, when muscle injuries occur, muscles can become inflamed, stretched or torn. Severe muscle injuries are often associated with fractures and should be examined by the physician.
First aid in case of fracture
First aid in sports, in case of an open fracture, include:
- Call an ambulance immediately, calling 192;
- Put sterile gauze or compress, if possible, on the fracture;
- Immobilize the fractured part while waiting for the ambulance.
A fracture is a break or a cracked bone that causes pain, swelling, abnormal movement or instability of the limb or even deformity, so do not pick up the victim and it is very important to wait for the ambulance for the victim to receive medical care as fast possible.
First aid in case of injury
The first aid in the sport, in case of injuries, can be:
- Wash the wound and the skin around with soap and water;
- Put in the wound and back an antiseptic solution like Curativ or Povidine;
- Apply a gauze or sterile dressing or band-aid until the wound heals.
If the wound continues to hurt, swelling or getting hot, consult a physician.
In case of drilling with pen, piece of iron or stick, do not remove the objects.
