To alleviate the suffering of the baby because of the birth of the teeth the parents can:
- Massage the gums with the tips of the fingers;
- Provide clean and smooth objects for baby to bite;
- Put peeled carrot sticks in the refrigerator and give the baby the cold sticks to bite;
- Put toys in the refrigerator and give the baby a bite, such as a biter;
- Use your own anesthetic ointments, such as Camomilina, to massage the baby's gums.
At this stage, it is normal for the baby to drool a lot and therefore it is common for the skin of the face, especially the chin, to become irritated. In these cases, simply pass the cream that you use to the baby's bites because it contains vitamin A and zinc, which protect and regenerate the skin.
Before teeth are fully born, parents should start cleaning their gums, cheeks and tongue with a damp gauze or gauze, especially before the baby goes to sleep.
When the teeth begin to appear, you should brush them carefully by passing the amount of toothpaste (without fluoride) that would fit on the nail of the little finger on a baby toothbrush. The toothpaste should be suitable for children. Use fluoride toothpaste only from 1 year of age.
