Pineapple juice is an excellent home remedy for menstrual cramps because pineapple acts as an anti-inflammatory that decreases inflammation of the tissues of the uterus, reducing constant contractions and relieving menstrual cramps.
But, the other ingredients are also crucial to the effectiveness of this home remedy. Ginger, for example, has a pineapple-like action and therefore increases the analgesic effect of symptoms of menstruation, while watercress and apple are diuretics, reducing fluid retention by the body and therefore decreasing colic.
Ingredients
- 1 leaf watercress
- 3 slices of pineapple
- ½ green apple
- 1 slice of ginger
- 200 ml of water
Method of preparation
Cut all the ingredients into small pieces and add them in the blender. Beat well and after sweetening to your liking the juice is ready to be drunk. This home remedy should be ingested 3 to 4 times a day to provide better pain relief results.
In addition, what can be done to relieve colic is to put a bag of warm water in the pelvic region and wear light clothing that does not tighten this region. Drinking plenty of water also helps menstruation to go down faster, relieving cramps.
However, when the cramps are really very strong and disabling it is recommended to consult the gynecologist to check if there is any problem, such as endometriosis, for example.
