Exfoliation for oily skin aims to remove dead tissues and excess oils, helping to clear the pores and maintain a healthier and cleaner skin.
For this, we give here some natural options, with sugar, honey, coffee and bicarbonate, for example, that are easy to make and do not harm the skin like cosmetics, and can be applied weekly on the face or body.
1. Exfoliating with lemon, cornmeal and sugar
A great homemade scrub for oily skin can be made at home with lemon, almond oil, cornmeal and sugar. The sugar and the corn will remove the most superficial layer of the skin, the oil will help to moisturize and the lemon juice will help remove excess oil from the skin, leaving it clean and fresh.
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon of sugar;
- 1 tablespoon cornmeal;
- 1 tablespoon almond oil;
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice.
Method of preparation:
Mix all ingredients in a plastic container and apply to the face, rubbing gently in a circular motion. Insist on the most oily regions on the face are usually the forehead, nose and chin, and then wash with warm water. Dry with a soft towel, without rubbing, and use a small amount of moisturizer proper for the face, free of oil.
2. Exfoliating with honey, brown sugar and oats

- 2 tablespoons brown sugar;
- 1 tablespoon oats in thin flakes.
Method of preparation:
Mix the ingredients until a paste forms and pass on the face or body gently, making circular movements. Leave on for up to ten minutes and rinse with warm water.
3. Exfoliating with lemon, cucumber and sugar
Lemon juice mixed with cucumber juice has many qualities that help clean and lighten the skin, removing excess oils, impurities and blemishes. The sugar has the action of exfoliating, removing the dead cells and unclogging the pores.
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice;
- 1 tablespoon cucumber juice;
- 1 tablespoon of crystal sugar.
Method of preparation:
Apply the ingredients mixture, with a gentle rub, and leave to act for 10 minutes. Rinse with plenty of warm water until all the product has been removed. Avoid getting exposed to the sun after this mask, and always pass your own sunscreen to oily skin after, as the lemon can stain the skin.
4. Exfoliating with baking soda and honey
The combination of baking soda with honey is great for removing dead cells and oil control, very useful for fighting against blackheads and pimples.
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda;
- 1 tablespoon of honey.
Method of preparation:
Mix the ingredients until smooth, pass gently with circular movements on the skin, and leave to act for 5 minutes. Then rinse with plenty of warm water.
5. Exfoliating with coffee
The coffee has antioxidant action, capable of renewing the skin, besides having exfoliating action that helps remove impurities and decreasing oiliness.
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon coffee powder;
- 1 tablespoon of water.
Method of preparation:
Mix the ingredients into a paste and apply to the desired regions with circular motions. Then leave to act for 10 minutes, and rinse with warm water.
Other oily skin care
In addition to exfoliation once a week, it is important to have some care to control skin oils, such as washing the face at most 2 to 3 times a day, preferably with products suitable for this type of skin, avoid excessive use of makeup and avoid use of moisturizing creams in the oily areas.
