Indications
Gastrointestinal colic; irritable bowel syndrome.
Side effects
Increased intraocular pressure; dilation of the pupils; eye pain; visual accommodation paralysis; blurred vision; increased heart rate; palpitation; heartburn; dry mouth; abdominal distension; pain or difficulty swallowing; paralytic ileus; nausea; loss of appetite; loss of taste; vomiting; mental confusion; constipation; Headache; fever; insomnia; nervousness; somnolence; dizziness; urinary difficulties; impotence; weakness; decreased sweating; lactation suppression; allergic reactions.
Contraindications
Breast-feeding; intestinal atony; ulcerative colitis; child less than 6 months of age; cardiocirculatory decompensation in acute hemorrhage; obstructive gastrointestinal tract disease; paralytic ileus; toxic megacolon; myasthenia gravis; urinary obstruction.
Mode of Use
Adults and Teenagers
- 10 to 20 mg, 3 or 4 times per day.
Children
- over 2 years: 10 mg, 3 or 4 times per day.
- 6 months to 2 years: 5 to 10 mg, 3 or 4 times daily.
